Spanish Lesson Plans

  • Bilingual Animals- The goal of this lesson is to teach children that animals may be called one thing in English and another in Spanish.
  1. Basic Introduction To Spanish - The students will be introduced to basic Spanish words and sounds that will help them grammatically for further knowledge of the Spanish language in writing and speaking.
  2. Definite and Indefinite Articles - Students will be able to repeat vocabulary words and pronounce over half of them correctly.
  3. Directions - In this lesson plan what I want is to teach the students the difference of infrastructure in Latin America and the different means of transportation we have.
  4. ER Verbs - Students will match the verb endings with the appropriate subject pronouns.
  5. Gender of Spanish Nouns - Given a noun, tell me the gender by placing the correct article with it more than one article can be used given an article, tell me the nouns that can go with it from our list of vocab given an English noun with an article.
  6. Hispanic World Unit- In this unit, students will conduct primary and secondary research to know the "hispanohablantes" in the world. These explorations will serve as windows for these Spanish-speaking countries for students to acquire information and impression from different perspectives.
  7. Implementing Baleros into the Classroom- A sophisticated look at the us of Baleros written by the Balero Players’ Association International.
  8. Introduction-Spanish Wheel - Spanish basic vocabulary and grammar provides students with the necessary information to communicate in Spanish.
  9. Learning Spanish - We will be learning about colors, animals, and we'll go through some others.
  10. Members of a Family Unit - Students must be able to effectively describe the characteristics of their own family.
  11. Mi familia - In this lesson the students will learn the basic vocabulary associated with the family.
  12. Mis Datos Personales - Considerable fluency in talking about themselves to others.
  13. Mix all the Ingredients - The students will be able to recognize countable and uncountable nouns.
  14. My Family - The student will be able to understand that he/she is an important member in a group of people.
  15. Noun/Adjective Agreement - Students will be able to: describe various things and people using bueno/malo and the other unique adjectives.
  16. Passive Words - Work on the ability to recognize different forms of passive sentences in different tenses.
  17. Personal Identification - Greetings and farewells; asking permission to take leave and responses; and review of the Spanish alphabet.
  18. Physical and Personality Traits - The students will be able to speak and write about the personality and physical traits of themselves and others.
  19. Present Progressive - The student will understand the correct use of the present progressive grammar pattern.
  20. Presentacion de la comida hispana - In cooperative groups, students will research a Hispanic food and prepare a presentation based on that food and its country of origin.
  21. ROPA BASICA - Students will be able to name clothing items and use color and size to modify appreciating the use of number, gender and correct word order in Spanish.
  22. Shapes in Spanish- Students will be able to differentiate objects based on contrast in physical characteristics such as color, texture, size and shape. Students will also be able to recognize and sort objects by color families.
  23. "Shopping at the Market" - The students will apply what they learn in a Mexican restaurant, by ordering their own meal in Spanish.
  24. Simple Future Tense - Students will be able to use the future tense in simple sentences.
  25. Simple Present Tense - To improve pronunciation, and usage of simple present tense.
  26. Spanish Body Parts- Identify and demonstrate an understanding of vocabulary for colors in Spanish.
  27. Spanish Head, Shoulder, Knees, Toes- Students will use the Spanish terms for parts of the body in the traditional "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes."
  28. Spanish Lesson 2- Instead of getting a pronunciation of a particular word, you select the audio clip that accompanies a particular section (such as the Nouns or the Colors).
  29. Spanish Lesson 3: en la escuela (at school)- The numbers from 100 to 999999 are covered, regular -ar verb conjugation is introduced, you'll learn some question-and-answer words, and you'll find out how to tell time in Spanish.
  30. Spanish Menu: An Internet Learning Experience- After learning the foods in Spanish have them create menu descriptions using Preterit forms of the verbs. I allowed each of the groups half of the class period (because we do not have a computer lab) to do research on the Internet.
  31. Spanish Pals: Bridging Boarders - Students will actively engage in the pen pal system to improve their Spanish speaking and listening comprehension skills.
  32. Subjunctivo - The students will learn to differentiate the use of subjunctive vs. indicative.
  33. The Spanish Speaking World - Describing what people are doing in a scene using the present progressive tense and the present tense.
  34. Verbos - Student will be able to identify verbs in any given Spanish literature and will know how it was conjugated referring back to the list of conjugations.
  35. Web Spanish Lessons- Lessons to teach basic knowledge, grammar, and vocabulary for Mexican Spanish.
  36. What's in a Name?- Students will develop an understanding of the connections among languages.
