Goals: | 1) Students should understand the interrelationship between the eleven human organ systems. 2)Students should understand how each of the systems alone and working together are crucial for overall health. |
Objectives: | 1)Students will be able to know and explain the name and function of each human organ system in an oral presentation. 2) Students will be able to create, design and correctly format a PowerPoint presentation on the human organ systems. 3)Students will be able to correctly use a rubric to complete a science activity on the human organ systems. 4)Students will be able to correctly write a science written report utilizing a rubric. |
Materials: | 1)Computer 2)Rubrics 4)Poster paper 5)Digital camera |
Introduction: | Show PowerPoint presentation on how to create a PowerPoint presentation. |
Development: | Introduce and discuss the use of the three rubrics to be used for the project. |
Practice: | Have a discussion with the students about examples of a project that would meet the standards of the project and examples of work that would not meet the standards. |
Accommodations: | Allow teams to distribute work and responsibilities within the group depending on strengths of each participant. |
Checking For Understanding: | Ask students if any of the requirements on each of the three rubrics are unclear and give examples when required. |
Closure: | Students present the finished poster, written report |
Evaluation: | Each team will present a PowerPoint presentation, poster and written report on the eleven human organ systems. |
