Content:
 Following the summer theme "Ready Set Fit", students will produce a well written essay describing an individual photograph of a physical activity in which they engaged in. The essay will be displayed on the class bulletin board.
Goals:
  Students will create an outline/rough draft describing an activity or exercise depicted in a photograph. Students will explain the fitness benefits of the exercise that is seen in their photo. Students will make corrections to their rough drafts and then write an complete essay describing the activity or exercise that is seen in their photo. Students will write an essay relating to the summer theme that will be displayed on the class bulletin board.
Objectives:
 After viewing a photo of themselves engaging in a particular activity or exercise; students will create an outline/rough draft describing the activity, and the health/ fitness benefits of their particular activity.
Materials:
 Photographs taken during recent class outings. Paper for rough drafts and final essay.
Introduction:
 Teacher will discuss with students the Ready Set Fit theme for the summer, and the bulletin board they will create to display their work. Teacher will present a photo of the class engaged in a particular activity.
Development:
 Teacher will prompt students to recall the activity in the photograph as well as the the class outing in which the photo was taken.
Practice:
 Teacher will allow students to describe the activity and the health benefits of the activity in the class photo. Students will make notes and/or write down the benefits of the activity in the teacher's picture.
Accommodations:
 Teacher and assistant will work with students to develop their ideas. Teacher will help students individually to make corrections and revisions.
Checking For Understanding:
 Students will write a complete/revised copy of their assignment.
Closure:
 Students will share their pictures and discuss their essays with their classmates.
