Objectives: | The students are to display an understanding of all terminology related to the game of football including terms and rules. Students will have a full understanding of offensive, defensive and special teams playcalling. |
Materials: | chalkboard or whiteboard, footballs, flags, cones, goalposts, writing utensils, appropriate jerseys |
Introduction: | Have you ever tried watching football or heard your friends talk about football and had no idea what they were talking about? |
Development: | During this section of the coarse the game of football will be explained in a easy to understand and methodical way. |
Practice: | Quizes regarding football terms will be given at prescribed times. |
Accommodations: | Application of learned tasks will be illustrated in both written instruction and on field application. |
Checking For Understanding: | Teacher will meet one-on-one with each student weekly and ask questions in a non-graded format to assertain the growth and understanding of the student. |
Closure: | Students will learn terms and skills by the assigned dates and the lesson will culminate in a scrimage tournament with small teams, with an eventual winner crowned. |
Evaluation: | Written evaluation and participatory scrimmage will assess the students understanding of the lesson. |
