Content: | This is a Webquest for students to use to write their own fairy tale ideas. |
Goals: | For students to successfully use the web to create their own fairy tale in a word document. |
Objectives: | Standards To be Followed: Communication: C. Follow multi-step directions Writing Processes G. Publish writing samples for display or sharing with others, using techniques such as electronic resources and graphics. |
Materials: | Computers with internet access, paper, word documents, kidpix (if necessary) |
Introduction: | Discuss with students how they can make their own fairy tales. They can make them as simple or complex as they want as long as they follow the rubric. |
Development: | Students will go over webquest with the teacher first. The teacher will explain the rubric and explain what is expected. At first they will work on their questions at their seats on paper provided and then work together. |
Practice: | Have students work on their project with the computer, it may be easier for them to work in groups or if you have a volunteer that could lend an extra hand that would be helpful as well. |
Accommodations: | Students who struggle with this project can be paired with a student who could help. Also it could be simplified for students who need more help. Checking For Understanding: | Assess the students work based on the rubric provided. |
Closure: | This lesson could be worked on for a few days. Letting students work at their own pace. Finish up the unit by reviewing all that was gone over for the Fairytale Unit. |
