Objectives: | The Student Will Be Able To: - identify 5 products named after G/R mythology - complete an Exit Ticket before leaving the room |
Materials: | - items: Mars bar, Venus razor, Nike shoes, Ajax cleanser - PPP with logos/brief summaries - LCD projector or OHP - computers with internet access - summary rubric - exit tickets (# of Students) |
Introduction: | - show items to students, and first slide of PPP |
Development: | - Ask, "what do these all have in common?" - once students have discovered relationship, ask, "Why do companies name their products after people/things from 4000 years ago?" (ALLUSION) |
Practice: | - Students Think-Pair-Share any other modern references to G/R mythological figures |
Accommodations: | Low-end: ESL/IS students may be given more time to complete independent practice. High-end: Gifted/talent student may instead create their own products based on a mythological figure. Students may write a summary, as above, create an a/v ad, or create a poster for their new product. |

Closure: | Exit Tickets - students must complete and turn in to teacher upon leaving the room |
