Introduction: | The Teacher is going to make the presentation of new language by having the learners looking at a presentation. This presentation will be done using the projector and the computer and it will focus on internal body organs and some common disesses in Costa Rica Students receive a copy that contains symptoms and treatment of common diseases |
Development: | The Teacher presents a conversation that students will practice using the direct method. Next the Teacher is going to have the students practicing the dialog (pair work) |
Practice: | Students will prepare role plays in which one student is a doctor, another student is a nurse and one student will be a patient (groups of three students) Next they present their role plays in front of the class |
Accommodations: | Students who do not know external body parts will work on a worksheet labeling and identifyng each part |
Checking For Understanding: | The Teacher will have the learners playing games such as the hot potato, tic tac toe, or the hang man in order to check students' learning and clarify doubts |
Closure: | Students complete a chart in wich they are going to write the name of each internal body organ as well as common diseases/epidemics their treatment and symptoms |
Evaluation: | Extraclass work Activity: Students must make illustrations of each disease and they should also write symptoms |
