Goals: | To teach students to utilize Windows Movie Maker to create movies from digitized photos, videos, and music. |
Objectives: | 1. Students will learn to import photos, videos, and/or sound files to the Windows Movie Maker program. 2. Students will then use the imported media to create frames of the movies they are creating. 3. Students will add effects and transitions to different movie frames and between frames. 4. Students will add titles, ending credits, and captions to different movie frame. 5. Students will learn to save their work to project files for later editing. 6. Students will learn to export their work to create a movie file. |
Materials: | 1. A Windows PC or laptop for each student. 2. Digitized photos, videos, and/or sound files. |
Introduction: | To start, pictures and/or videos will be shown to students. This will give them some ideas of what types of raw materials they can use to make their movies. Then, a finished movie will be shown to students to give them some ideas of how they should set their goal. |
Development: | Individual steps of how to make a movie will be demostrated to students on a big screen. Effects, transitions, how to add captions and title will be explained. |
Practice: | Students will be ask to practice each movie making steps right after demostrations. During practice, student will be allowed to ask question. |
Accommodations: | Teachers' aids will be provided for students with special needs. For more advanced students, they will be allowed use more advanced features with the program. |
Checking For Understanding: | Students will be assessed from the movies they made during the independent practices. Students will be asked to demostrate all steps in creating a movie. |
Closure: | Students will showcase the movies they created on the big screen. |
Evaluation: | To evaluate students' learning progresses, they will be asked to demostrate the following steps: 1. Importing media into the program. 2. Creating frames with media imported. 3. Incorporating effects and transitions to the movie. 4. Adding title page, credit page, and captions. 5. Saving projects. 6. Exporting project to the movie format. |
