Recall events as we read aloud together and ask questions as we go along. pick out the words also with silent letters. Recap main idea, compare and contrast characters and events. See if our predictions are correct as we go along. What is the moral of this story. Proofreading: discuss and model how we correct our material or someone else's. what are we looking for? How do we make the marks necessary to revise. Start with work already proofread/marks made to model how its done and if students recognize the actual mistakes. It is very easy to miss a mistake and we should take our time! Then learn the correct way to mark. Lets try to proofread. Two short passages will be given with numerous mistake, first we do together, then the next set will be done on their own and they will rewrite the proofread material. |
