 Using the First Steps documents as a guide, to share more details and information from the chapter on narratives (ie: orientation, resolution, etc.)
Goals:
 -Test their growing knowledge of narrative elements without the assistance of the teacher -Prepare them more closely to write a narrative
Objectives:
 -Listening skills -Oral speaking and performance (questions and participation) -
Materials:
 -Document camera, First Steps document, LCD player
Introduction:
 -Quiz them on the terms that have been taught so far -Start sharing more material and information on narratives from First Steps
Development:
 -When enough new information has been taught transition -Read the fairytale story "Jack and the Beanstalk"
Practice:
 -Students read, and listen -Students take jot notes of where they think specific narrative elements are in the story (using a graphic organizer called - "story grammar"
Accommodations:
 -Give a copy of story grammar to all students -Allow a copy of the fairytale to be with students who are slower at reading (a guide)
Checking For Understanding:
 -Will correct the story grammar as a group next class
Closure:
 -Inform them that quiz will be after next class -writing narrative comes next

 -Confidence in students answers, prepped for writing a narrative
