Goals: | (1) Students will get to know the words about our face and body. (2) Students will increase their familarity with English conversation. |
Objectives: | (1) Students can say the name of our face and body with partners. (2) Students can sing the song related to the face and body. (3) Students can pronounce the words clearly. (4) Students can present the group activity in front of the other students. (5) Students can utilize the web-based materials to learn the words beyond the classroom. |
Materials: | (1) a personal computer per students which can connect the internet (2) flash cards and word cards about the body and face (3) media sound system |
Introduction: | The teacher wears the funny clothes which highlight the specific place of the body and face to attention for students, and ask students to guess about today's topic. And to elicit learners' motivation, students say the most beautiful part of their body in their belonged group. |
Development: | After explaining the goal of the lecture, teacher posts the flash card and word card about the body. By matching the flash cards for the appropriate word cards, students can figure out the adequate words for the place of our body. And teacher instructs that students look up the words related to the body and face through the picture dictionary on the internet and listen to the correct pronunciation and experience related flash movies. Teacher guides the students to repeat the sound and practice the words several times. Students practice matching the suitable words several times with their partner. Students discuss the function of the each part of the body and face with their group members in English. After finishing discussion, they have opportunity to share their group ideas with the rest of the class. |
Practice: | Teacher presents the flash movie ��Head and Shoulders' including body related song with dance and indicate students to follow this activity and then give some time to practice the activity with their group for presentation. |
Accommodations: | If there are the disabled, teacher allows them to following the activities with sitting their chair. If there are any students who don't know the phonics and alphabets, teacher have to give the appropriate web materials to practice them. |
Checking For Understanding: | Through the group activities and presentation, teacher and other students can give the feedback. |
Closure: | Teacher helps students recall the words of our body, and give the assignment that practice them through the web. |
Evaluation: | All objectives covered in class are evaluated during students' presentation in front of the other students. As pairs work together, teacher circulates to monitor students and to observe informally whether they have participated in the activities. |
