Objectives: | Students will be able to write a paragraph detailing their favorite place; using language that engages the readers senses. (Clearly students will focus on sight, but all will be encouraged to try to think of smells and sounds). |
Materials: | Projector; copies of Harcourt Reader; paper; writing utensils. |
Introduction: | Examples of what colorful or descriptive language may be IE - Bang; crash; Stinks; glowing Examples may be found on pages 23,24 and 32. |
Development: | Ask students to offer their own colorful words |
Practice: | The class may compose a sentence or two as a whole or in small groups. |
