Content:
 -Language Arts - Written composition through personal reflection in paragraph format. -Language Arts - Oral communication. Present paragraph to the class. -Key Vocabulary: Paragraph, autobiography, biography, reflection
Goals:
 -Communicate ideas and information about oneself to teacher and classmates -Organize and develop ideas using paragraphs -Revise and edit work, using feedback from the teacher and their peers -Proofread and correct their final drafts, focusing on grammar, punctuation and spelling -Use proper form for paragraphs and use cursive writing

Materials:
 Lined paper Journal Dictionary
Introduction:
 Teacher introduces herself to the class by means of a bio-bag. A bio-bag consists of items that defines who a person is, what he/she likes to do and what/who is important in their lives.
Development:
 After hearing about their teacher's life, the students will reflect on their own life and write their autobiographical paragraph.
Practice:
 Students will make a list of things/people important to them. They will then work from the list and organize and develop ideas using paragraphs.
Accommodations:
 If required, students will be given more time to finish. If required, students will be given more one-one-one help.
Checking For Understanding:
 Question the class to tell the teacher exactly what the assignment is. Teacher will write down steps on the board in order for all students to understand.
Closure:
 Have students begin work independently at their seat. Once students have edited their work, have students present work to the teacher. At the end of the day, students will share their autobiographical paragraph with the class.
Evaluation:
 Paragraph will be evaluated on: -originality of personal reflection. -proper use of grammar, spelling and punctuation Oral Presentation is included as a means of giving students opportunity to share their lives/interests with their classmates.
