 Classroom maners specifically focused on lining up.
Content:
 Lining up without argiung. Learning that being first in line is not so important. Cooperation and good manners amongst peers.
Goals:
 To understand always being first when lining up, and during other classroom activities is not so important. Good classroom maners includes allowing others to be in front of you. To understand that each person is equal.
Objectives:
 To display appropriate behavior when lining up. Diminish arguing among peers while in line. Being aware of the feelings of each other when engaging in activities that reuire patience and cooperation.
Materials:
 Boo, "Me First"by Lynn Munsinger. Accompanying worksheet. Crayons,scissors, glue stick, popsicle sticks,rhythm maker,snack.
Introduction:
 Children are seated in small group. Teacher explains that she hs brought a snack and would like to share this before she gets started. Teacher also mentions that she hopes she has enough for each child and to please line up.
Development:
 Children are told that they are not using appropriate line behavior and they must sit back down on the rug. Teacher reads, "Me First." Then students are asked to line up for the workheet. Return to seats and take out materials.
Practice:
 Students are instructed to color the characters on worksheet and cut out. Characters are then gued to popsicle stick. Dun this activity, teacher introduces song/poem using rhythm maker. Children practice this with teaher assistance.
Accommodations:
 
Checking For Understanding:
 Following this song, children are allowed now to line up for distribution of snack. Teachers check for understanding during this actvity.
Closure:
 Children are agian reminded of good manners while lining up. Teachers aske the students directly if they understand the difference between good and bad manners in line. Teacher asks for students to give examples of when they could use the good manners. (recess, bus, lunchroom).
Evaluation:
 Teacher observation and feedback are method of evluation.
