 Eucharist- the body of Christ Reconciliation- telling God or someone else we are sorry for something we have done wrong
Goals:
 Eucharist means gathering with others in peace- the family in the waiting room. In the bakery at the end of the story. Eucharist offers Mercy and Forgiveness- the baker offers them food because he feels bad. In the Eucharist we are united with those who need us- throughout the story food is menioned in a positive way. The baker needs Ann and Howard as much as they need him. The Eucharist is a sacred meal shared between friends, bread is broken and shared- at the end of the story in the bakery the baker breaks bread and shares it with Ann and Howard. Reconciliation requires being sorry for our sins/Reconiliation requires us to say I am sorry- The doctor reacting to the parents after Scotty dies. The baker's reaction to hearing thier son died and then him rethinking how he acted on the phone when he called them about the cake. Reconciliation mean we have a change of heart- the baker talking to Ann and Howard telling them how sorry he is and for his actions.
Objectives:
 To have the students learn the similarities between real life and Jesus' life in the Bible. Also, to have them learn the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Jesus Christ are everywhere.
Materials:
 The Story
Introduction:
 Introduce myself. Read the story to the students and after every 2 pages or so ask them if they see any symbolism for Jesus, the Eucharist, or Reconciliation.
Development:
 Explain the elements I want to teach. Ask the students if they have any questions about it.
Practice:
 Have the students write down something they are sorry for privatley. Tell them when they go home to say, "God I am sorry for (insert what they are sorry for.)" Then have them throw the piece of paper away.
