 To compare and contrast the Roman and Greek Eras of Theatre
Materials:
 Top Hat Organizer (Thoughtful Education) Exploring Theatre (Textbook) Theatre Throughout the Ages (Workbook)
Introduction:
 Review over Primitive and Greek Eras What is the predominant theory of the beginning of theatre? How did theatre develop during the Greek Period?
Development:
 Discuss the important of recognizing the differences and similarities between the various eras of theatre and its progression. Read pg. 44 and discuss Roman contributions to theatre.
Practice:
 Show top hat organizer and how it is used. Begin by having students l similarity and 1 difference in each section.

Checking For Understanding:
 As a class, discuss some of the responses; added them to a master top hat on the board.
Closure:
 Is there more similarities or differences? What does this say about the Romans contribution to theatre? What does this say about the culture after Rome conquered Greece in 146 B.C.?
