Goals: | The students will learn to make goals and plan a process of steps for achieving them. |
Objectives: | To set goals for ourselves and identify flaws/obstacles in our way. |
Materials: | Index Cards Pencils Blackboard Chalk Chart Paper Coroled Markers Prepared questions on paper |
Introduction: | Each Student receives an index card with "hero" written on it. "WHAT IS A HERO?" is on a chart paper at the front of the room. |
Development: | Student write a brain-storming bubble around the word and write down their own ideas on their own index cards. Names are NOT written on cards. |
Practice: | On the board is a chart. At the top is written "GOAL to complete task of staging one hero's journey" Every student's name is written in the first column with two others "Steps towards gioal and "Flaws / Obstacles." Share out: Each student shares one idea s/he wrote as teacher writes down contribution on the brainstorming chart paper. |

Checking For Understanding: | Skip Development 1. After students have written, all cards are collected. 2. Students make groups of three and choose randomly one card. 3. Students develop skits, deciding which roles they will play and how the story will develop. |
Closure: | Scene Presentations Each group will resent the scene they develop for the class. |
Evaluation: | The students should do a journal entry recording their experience working in the group and creating the skit. How do you think this exercise can help you in life? |
