Content: | Monday-Tuesday-Thursday and Friday students will continue to work on their experimental etchings using old CD's. Wednesday-they will go to the museum and look at etchings..specifically Rembrandt, Picasso. |
Goals: | Students will be able to use discarded materials to make art. Students will be able to make multiple pieces of art through the printmaking process Students will investigate the etching process. Students will be experimental with the line quality of etching. Students will be experimental with monoprinting, and collograph printing using the CD's. |
Objectives: | Students will be introduced to the nature of printmaking. Students will work through the creative process. Students must make aesthetic decisions as the only requirement to this assignment is the use of line on a CD. |

Introduction: | The teacher introduces the process of etching, and specifically the use of etching using a CD. The teacher additionally talks about collographs, and monographs/prints and encourages their use in addition to etching. |
Development: | Students are given a practice CD and a stylus. They initially experiment with the medium. |
Practice: | Students make many experiments using paint, markers, different types of brayers and rollers, as well as different types of materials for the collographs. Their experiments will eventually lead to a final idea. |
Accommodations: | The teacher works with individual students. |

Teacher Reflections: | We are working on this project while the clay pieces dry thoroughly. We are also waiting for the kiln to be rehooked up. |
