Lesson Plan : Happy, Sad, Angry, and Mad!

Topic:
 Internet based group activity intended to reinforce vocabulary Happy, Sad, Angry, and Mad using a scavenger hunt type of method.
Content:
 Vocabulary: Hapy, Sad, Angry, and Mad using I , we , he, she, and they are.
Goals:
  Students will have the ability to express their own feelings as well as analyzing and naming the emotion of others based upon the facial expressions on the subjects.
Objectives:
 Students will be able to perform at 100% accuracy when asked to describe an emotion depicted in the facial expression of another person or themselves. Students will use I , he, she, we, and they correctly in conjunction with the given vocabulary with target accuracy of 75-85%.
Materials:
 Following websites: www.kidsafestar.net Computer's for student usage, Active board, notebooks, portfolios or file box.
Introduction:
 Students will be given directions, websites, and task in the classroom and divided into groups of 4. A game will be played similiar to charades in order to solidify the concept of the activity.
Development:
 The teacher will use the active board in order to demonstrate how to reach the prescribed sites and what to look for on those sites.
Practice:
 One student from each group will then come to the front of the room and re-enact what has just been demonstrated.
Accommodations:
 Teacher should makes rounds of the classroom in order to monitor progress and address any problems, concerns, or questions.
Checking For Understanding:
 Once the assignment is completed, teams will take turns discussing what they found.
Closure:
 At the close of class the students should keep this information in a portfolio in order to build upon it in future assignments.
Evaluation:
 The instructor should provide another quiz the following class period asking students to complete a similiar task in order to assess whether the students have a firm grasp of the content of this activity. Team results should also be evaluated.
