BU03.02 Understand entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. BU03.03 Understand the procedures and requirements for starting a business |
Development: | The teacher will distribute the PowerPoint notes to students and go over the PowerPoint slides with the students. The presentation provides an overview of the procedures and requirements for starting a business. The teacher will pass out several worksheet activities on steps to start a business. The teacher will pair students in a group of 5 or 6 to work on the worksheets and business plan. Teachers will circulate the room and assist as needed. |
Practice: | With the blueprint worksheet, the students will learn what information is included in the Executive Summary of business plan by following blueprint for an executive summary for a business they would like to start. This will interest the students in learning more about the business plan and the procedure. The students will be able to explain the importance of the procedures and requirements for starting a business by completing the cause and effect chart. The students will learn what causes new businesses to be successful and to not be successful. |
Accommodations: | Handouts in large print will be given to students with visual impairments. The teacher or interpreter will assist those with visual/hearing impairments. Modifications will be made to the quiz. |
Checking For Understanding: | Attached is a rubric in relation to the lesson for student�s assessment and a quiz on copyright along with the answer key. |
Closure: | Students will be asked what causes new business to be successful. |

Teacher Reflections: | An example of PowerPoint Present of group work is attached to the lesson plan. Each student seeing the presentations visually would have a better understanding and the requirements and copyright laws for staring a business. Each student will have a portfolio to put their work in for me to grade at the end of each nine weeks. |
