 TSW: demonstrate good grooming & hygiene demonstrate appropriate appearance for the workplace
Objectives:
 TSW: maintain an appropriate level of cleanliness of self and clothing on a daily basis. demonstrate at work hygiene by washing hands before break, before leaving work and when sneezing, coughing or using tissues 100 of the time display an understanding of by bringing to work daily the pants, shirt, shoes and jacket appropriate for the floral arts jobsite and the current weather.
Materials:
 Learning Basic Social Skills by Nancy Lobb Miguel and Oscar pg 4 Grooming Checklist pg 14 Are You Ready For Work? Checklist posted on the wall outside door.
Introduction:
 This lesson stresses the importance of good grooming (clean clothing, hygiene of body, hair, hands) and dressing appropriately for work. Discussion of good grooming, appropriate clothes for this job and specific clothing requirements that other jobs might have.
Development:
 WHO GETS THE JOB? Read the scenario of Miguel and Oscar Students fill out the "Grooming checklist" Discuss the checklist. Present grooming scenarios : Tide Commercial - the talking stain! Question? Do well dressed people do a better job? Student experiences with bad grooming....present bad/good grooming scenarios. Ask what would or wouldn't be appropriate clothing to wear to work in general and/or different types of jobs. Explain expectations for this job.
