Goals: | This chapter will give an overview of what is expected of each Christian in their walk with Christ. It will involve them in activities that will show them how to develop a personal lifelong, obedient relationship with Jesus Christ.Throughout this teaching the individual is allowing Christ to transform his character into Christ likeness; changing his values into kingdom values; in the home, the church, and the world. |
Objectives: | The objective is that each individual member will understand The Disciples Cross, the personality of a disciple, the victory of a disciple, and the mission of a disciple in order that they may go out and be secure and effective disciples for the Lord. |
Materials: | Handouts or purchase the book for $9.99 (The Disciple's Cross), assignments, group sessions,and lectures.DVD/TV |
Introduction: | Introducing the members to what a disciple is. |
Development: | Definition of Disciple. What we will be doing throughout the first chapter of The Disciples Cross. |
Practice: | Prayer will be done before and after each session, and work for different worksheets that should be done at home will be discussed. |
Accommodations: | If someone misses a session they can make it up one on one with the leader of the session. |
Checking For Understanding: | Throughout the discussion the session leader will keep the group focused and assess for any corrections that need to be made at that time. |
Closure: | The session will be wrapped up by 10:30 in preparation for Morning Worship or 9:30 in preparation for Intercessory Prayer. Each member will be asked to read the next chapter and finish the homework if any. |
Evaluation: | If all members are understanding the definition of a disciple, and what it means to have a deeper relationship with Christ as they practice the six biblical disciplines of a disciple. |
