Introduction:
Sometimes you think differently about something than your friends or family. When this happens, you need to present or "argue" your point of view. You need to persuade your friends or family to agree with you. We call this kind of persuasive writing. As always you need to think of ways to organize your ideas before you begin to write. Organizing your ideas for this type of writing is different than organizing for other types. There are three prewriting startegies you could use to help you plan what you want to include in this type of writing. A) Comparison/Contrast Model B) Pro/Con C) Venn Diagram
Development:
I give student three samples using A, B, and C. 1. I will give students a example "Comparing & Constrasting" "Ducks & Chickens" 2. I will give students a example of Pro/Con about "Having A Dog as a Pet" 3. I will give students a example of a venn diagram using an example of "Two Presidents"
Practice:
Student will come up with their own A, B, or C. Then present them to the class.

I will ask myself if the children seemed to understand the lesson. What are the negative and positive aspects of my lesson? What would I change about the way I taught the lesson? Did I cover what I wanted to cover? Is there anything I could change for the next time I teach this lesson?
