Content: | Explanation of how Flash works with designing websites as well as some examples. Simple tools and functions that apply. Some Motion Tweening and rules/functions that follow. Basic knowledge of the application. Go over Layers, Frames, Keyframes, actions, and exporting |
Goals: | The main goal is to give students a basic understanding of the tools used in this complex Web Design application. The students will also be taught how Flash is incorporated into websites. |
Objectives: | Objectives for basic knowledge of tools is to understand each individual tool and know what basic situations to use it in. Students will also know how to incorporate flash into dreamweaver into a simple webpage. |
Materials: | Flash MX, Dreamweaver MX. |
Introduction: | Descibe how flash is used with websites and the importance of having flash in a website. Explain that these tools will all work together cooperatively on certain projects. Talk about how deep flash can get, as far as importing sounds and adding your own programming. |
Development: | Show certain websites that incorporate flash to gain user attention. Talk about balance and not flooding a page with too much flash. Give an example of too much flash. Demonstrate basic tools on the toolbar,a motion tween, and simple actions. Explain the SWF file and move on to tools. |
Practice: | Allow all students to use the simple tools discussed and get familier witht he canvas. Allow them to create a motion tween and apply actions discussed. Have students export a SWF file to a simple dreamweaver page and upload. |
