Introduction:
Each of us can most likely recall a time, usually as a child, when their favorite snack, after school, at lunch, or at midnight, was the great American staple, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. This creation and blending textures and flavors is one that can be completed simply or with great extravagance.
Development:
Today, we will walk through the preparation of a simple PB&J (as we commonly call it) sandwich. To begin, you will neet to retrieve a clean plate and knife, napkin, jar of peanut butter, jar of jelly and two slices of bread. - Begin by placing the two slices of bread on the plate. Some may desire to spiff up the texture of the sandwich by toasting the bread, which can be quite tasty. - Open the jar of peanut butter. - Using the knife, remove some peanut butter (about the size of the distal part of your thumb). - Spread the peanut butter on one slice of the bread (only one side). - Remove excess peanut butter from the knife with the napkin. - Close the jar of peanut butter. - Open the jar of jelly. - Using the cleaned knife, remove some jelly from the jar. - Spread the jelly on the non-peanut buttered piece of bread. - Remove any remaining jelly from the knife using a clean section of the napkin. - Close the jar of jelly. - Place the peanut buttered side of the bread against the jellied side of the bread. - Lightly press the bread together. - For ease in eating, you can cut the sandwich in half. A diagonal cut will make for a very pretty presentation. - Enjoy your sandwich!
