Topic:
 Students will be learning to distinguish between different types of cat breeds by looking at pictures and also learning different characteristics about each one.
Content:
 We will be going over breed names, sizes, traits, and other characteristics that pertain to each breed.
Goals:
 The goals of this lesson are for students to recognize different breeds of cats by pictures and also by traits. Students should be able to compare and contrast the different breeds also.
Objectives:
 Students will use different methods to obtain the information such as taking notes, observing pictures, creating a "radio commercial" for selling different types of breeds and then completing a written test on the different breeds.
Materials:
 Powerpoint, posterboard, construction paper, markers, and a written test will be used.
Introduction:
 We will do an introductory assignment that focuses on what the class knows about cats.
Development:
 As we learn about the breeds, we will be using questions and answers as we go over each individual breed. They will be able to incorporate thier personal stories while we cover them.
Practice:
 We will be using a project format and also a test review to practice the knowledge of the breeds.
Accommodations:
 Students will different needs will be placed in selected areas closer to the teacher desk/front of the classroom. Extra time will be given to students that need it.
Checking For Understanding:
 Questions will be frequently asked throughout the notes. We will also have a question/answer session at the end of the project.
Closure:
 We will review all of the breeds that we have gone over and they will be given a test review.
Evaluation:
 A project will be used to "sell" a breed of cat that they choose. This will be graded on creativity and also the information that is given. A written test will also be given.
