Content:
 Planning spaces,choosing colors, factors that affect space organization, organizing activitiy areas,selection criteria for toys & equipment,state & NAEYC requirements & safety issues.
Goals:
 Students are to be able to design, develop and equip a playground that meets the state & NAEYC guidelines.
Objectives:
 3. Analyze developmenatally appropriate practices to plan for early childhood education & services. 4.2 Implement learning activities in all curriculum areas that meet the developmental needs of children. 6.5 Demonstrate ability to present information regarding developmental issues and concerns related to children.
Materials:
 computer w/internet access Magazines w/pricing of approved playground equipment ruler,pencil,paper
Introduction:
 You have been asked to design a playground for a center.
Development:
 1.Cover 2.Brief description page 3.layout of facility page 4.equipment informationa & pricing
Practice:
 Students will research the state & NAEYC guidelines for a playground. Using the state & NAEYC guides students will practice planning and arranging a playground.
Accommodations:
 Students will work independently !
Checking For Understanding:
 Student will discuss & explain their project with the teacher when they are partially completed.
Closure:
 The project will be presented to the class(acting as the entrepreneur that they are working for)
Evaluation:
 I will grade the student's project and make comments.
Teacher Reflections:
 Discuss with the student their understanding of the project. Their organization skills,presentation skills,& accuracy will be discussed as criteria for a successful project.
