Objectives: | The objective of this 10 minute lesson is to use an interactive demonstration to describe and outline how to use the the Microsoft Word Track Changes tool to successfully edit and review a fake sick note for a math class. Students will be evaluated at the end of the demonstration via a Kahoot quiz to determine how well they recall the information. |

Introduction: | Show class the partially finished "sick note" I've created to get out of my math exam. Ask them for help. (1 min) |
Development: | Introduce the class to the track changes tool by describing its two functions: Recording edits and reviewing previous changes. Take them through a very basic example. (2 mins) |
Practice: | -Ask class to provide words to fill in the holes in my "sick note". -Turn on track changes -Begin filling in sick note with class provided words -Describe how the changes we are making to the sick note are being recorded with Track Changes - Once the edits are made, review these changes with the class. - Outline the various methods for reviewing the edits -Identify how to accept or reject changes (5 mins) |
