Objectives: | Within a 2 hour time-frame, the student is able to follow the instructions to fold a piece of paper into an airplane which flies. |
Materials: | 8.5 inch x 11 inch (letter sized) sheet of paper. Drawing supplies (Pencil crayons, markers) |
Introduction: | (5 mins) Distribute sheets of paper to class. |
Development: | (10 mins) Teacher creates a paper airplane as a demonstration and throws it out into the class to show it flies. |
Practice: | (40 mins) Walk students step by step through the process of folding a paper airplane. |
Accommodations: | Show different models and adjustments. Teacher can assist with folding. |
Checking For Understanding: | Pausing to allow students to catch up. Allow for questions. Assist students in need of help. |
Closure: | Students go outside(weather permitting) to see who's plane flies the furthest. |
Evaluation: | How well they could follow along. Progression through through the steps. Creativity of design. |
