Goals:
 The Goal is to be able to convert a Binary number into a Decimal number.
Objectives:
 -Learn How to calculate two to the power of the position of the number -Determine the position of the digit
Materials:
 Calculator, Tables
Introduction:
 Educate the students as to why it is necessary to convert decimal into binary. Provide history and real world application as to why this is important to learn. This will encourage the students to learn the material.
Development:
 -Start by distinguishing the difference between Binary and Decimal. -Decimal system: emphasize on the location number of the digit because this is where they will be adding 2 to the power of x (where x is the position of the digit) -Be able to add and multiply numbers that are power of 2's
Practice:
 Practice doing 2 to the power of x (where x is the position of the number) then adding all the results
Accommodations:
 Have the student use a calculator. Reverse the order of conversion; instead of binary to decimal go decimal to binary.
Checking For Understanding:
 Evaluate the independent practice you have provided
Closure:
 By the end of the lesson, a student should be able to understand how to convert a Binary number to a Decimal number.
Evaluation:
 Provide an exam test with different question, like converting and Position of digits.
