Objectives: | Explain the 6 foundational principles of health (sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, thinking, and breathing) and how they relate to your overall health. |
Materials: | How to Eat Move and be Healthy (book) You are what you eat.(audio series) Paul Chek explaining the 6 foundational principles (sleep,hydration,nutrition, movement, thinking, and breathing). Video |
Introduction: | Group exercise (energy push) to introduce the concept of working in instead of working out. |
Development: | Listen to audio of you are what you eat. Investigate the roll of leaky gut syndrome and it's effects on the body. Understand the order of importance of the 6 principles and how they affect each other as well as the body. |
Practice: | Fill out questionnaire to determine physiological load then use that information to create a diet and exercise plan that takes into account all 6 principles. |
Accommodations: | All learning styles accommodated and exercises can be modified to be suitable for any disability that may be encountered. |
Checking For Understanding: | Brief multiple choice test to test the basic understanding of: sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, thinking, and breathing. |
Closure: | Re-integrate the content and it's importance to health as well as take any questions that may be outstanding. |
Evaluation: | Check diet and exercise logs in one week to see if applying correctly. |
