Introduction: | introduce words like to/too/two, ate/eight and tell them these are homophones which sound same but have different meaning. |
Development: | start giving examples of homophones and ask them if they know the meaning of the words |
Practice: | make groups. hold the homophone packet on the whiteboard to tell them to identify the correct use of word. have them practice in groups and see if they can identify the correct use. |
Accommodations: | illustrations for each homophone |
Checking For Understanding: | give students a copy of homophone story from packet. have them read story and check if they circle the correct homophones. |
Closure: | students can identify the correct use of homophones |
