Materials: | Stove Knives Pot Fork Bowl Measuring Cup Table Spoon Peppers Onion Dried Spices (Garlic and Herb, Pepper, Salt). Olive Oil Vinegar |
Introduction: | Learn to be a gourmet salad artist by creating your very own pasta salad. |
Development: | We use the stove to boil the water. We use the knives to cut the vegetables. We use the pot to heat the water to cook the pasta. We use a fold to stir the salad dressing. We use the bowl to mix the ingredients in. We use a spoon to get and measure ingredients. We use the measuring cup to measure the ingredients. We use the peppers to add a sweet flavor. We use the onion to get a spicy flavor. We use the spices to enhance the overall flavor. We use the olive oil to prevent the salad from drying out and to enhance flavor. We use Vinegar to help the vegetables absorb the flavors and to preserve the salad. |
Practice: | 1. Prepare the vegetables by cutting them with the knife. Put Vegetables into the bowl. 2. Get a measuring cup and make sure to fill it with 1/2 a up of olive oil and 1/4 cup of vinegar. 3. Next get 1 1/2 table spoons of dried garlic and herb spice. Also, a pinch of salt and pepper. Put these ingredients directly into the measuring cup and stir with the fork. 4. Put water in the pot. 5. Let the water come to a boil. 6. Place the pasta into the water and cook. 7. Dump the pasta into the bowl of vegetables and pour the salad dressing into the bowl. 8. Stir the bowls contents for about a minute. 9. Refrigerate to help further enhance flavor. 10. Serve the food. |
Accommodations: | Use visual cues when doing my salad to help those with lower reading cognition to make their salad. Use better knives to easy the cutting process for those with vision loss and prevent injury. |
Checking For Understanding: | Taste test at the end to make sure that one is happy with their results. |
