Subject: | Other |
Topic: | How to tie your shoes |
Content: | Properly tying your shoes so that you do not trip over them. |
Goals: | Properly tied shoes. |
Objectives: | Making sure your shoe laces are proper lengths. Tying them so that they do not go undone. |
Materials: | Shoes with laces. |
Introduction: | Start off with untied laces. Make sure the laces are even in length. |
Development: | Make sure your laces aren't too tight, or too loose, to ensure your shoes fit properly, and comfortably. |
Practice: | 1. Start off with untied laces, one in each hand. 2. Cross the laces over one another. 3. Take the lace on top, and put it between and under the cross. Pull both laces to tighten. 4. Take one of the laces, and make a loop. 5. Wrap the opposite lace over the loop. 6. Bring the loop between and under the two laces. 7. Take the knot at the base of the loop in one hand, and the loop in the other. 8. Pull both the loop and knot so that the laces are tightened. |
Accommodations: | Instead of tying with a loop and a knot, you can instead tie with two loops. After crossing the two laces together, make two loops, croos them over one another, bring one of the loops between and under the laces, and tighten. |
Checking For Understanding: | Get a person who knows how to tie shoes to show you how to do it. |
