Materials: | Latex Gloves Caseback Opener Movement Holder Tweezers 1mm Screwdriver 2.5mm Screwdiver |
Introduction: | Present a watch movement and diagram. Show diagram of parts and their functions. Let class pass around movement and practice holding it. |
Development: | Demonstrate removal of watch caseback using proper tools and methodology. Practice holding the movement and demonstrate common errors when holding it. |
Practice: | Remove movement from case and place it in the movement holder. As a class, unscrew the rotor and back plate. This will be done together. |
Accommodations: | Large scale movement with easy to handle parts. Written instructions for those with visual disabilities. |
Checking For Understanding: | Able to identify select parts using proper name. Able to identify risks behind improper handling. |
Closure: | Ensure that all students have changed the mainspring successfully. Demonstrate watch is working successfully. |
