Goals:
 To create and modify WordArd in Microsoft Word documents
Objectives:
 Insert WordArt into Microsoft Office, Apply text effects to WordArt, Change the color of WordArt, Apply transformation effects to WordArt.
Materials:
 Step by Step instructional handout, PC with projector for demonstration.
Introduction:
 This lesson will introduce the skills required to use one of the most powerful and least implemented functions of Microsoft Word, WordArt. The skills explored in this lesson will enable users to add a professional touch to any word document.
Development:
 The procedure for creating WordArt will be demonstrated on screen, and additionally the procedures for modifying WordArt will be shown.
Practice:
 Students are expected to follow along with the demonstration on their personal computers to reinforce the concepts explored.
Accommodations:
 Direct hands-on assistance will be provided in the event that a student is unable to carry out the learning objectives presented.
Checking For Understanding:
 At the end of the activity the student should have a completed WordArt inserted in their Word document and have the skills to create future WordArt.
Closure:
 A finished WordArt inserted into a document will be the capstone of this lesson, illustrating the learning outcomes through example.
Evaluation:
 All students should have a completed WordArt inserted in their Microsoft word document. Additionally, the WordArt should show evidence of modification based on the procedures outlined in the lesson. Students with WordArt showing no modification will possess a rudimentary understanding of the subject. Students showing one or more modifications will be considered proficient. Students who can create WordArt and apply multiple effects will have demonstrated a mastery of the skills required to create WordArt. Students with no word art will be considered for additional remedial instruction.
