Materials: | -Guitar (acoustic and electric) -Tablature (E chord, major scale) |
Introduction: | Show the finger positions for the open E chord |
Development: | -Explain to the student what a chord is -show the different ways a student could play the chord (different finger positions) |
Practice: | -have the student strum the chord continuously -have the student pluck individual strings/notes of the E chord |
Accommodations: | -Change the action (height) of the strings to make it easier/harder to play |
Checking For Understanding: | -Monitor the students progress -Check whether he/she is too tense when strumming -Check whether the finger positions are correct |
Closure: | -Discuss the E chord as well as the E minor chord -Discuss the major scale from which the chord was built |
Evaluation: | - Check the strumming pattern, whether all the strings are being hit - Have the student pluck the individual strings of the E chord up and down |
