Topic:
 Overwatch
Content:
The game "Overwatch" is an online based five vs five first person shooter video game. The objectives of the game vary depending on the mode, but generally speaking, you and your team are tasked with defeating the enemy team through superior skill and teamwork.
Goals:
Your goal will be achieving a kill to death ratio (KDR) of at least two to one (meaning two kills for every death you receive in game).
Objectives:
You and your team need to work together to defeat the enemy team. This will allow your team to win and for you to hopefully achieve a high KDR.
Materials:
A copy of Overwatch, a PC capable of playing Overwatch, and an internet connection.
Introduction:
Pick your character. Good starter characters include Soldier 76 and Pharah.
Development:
Different characters have different abilities. Generally speaking, offensive characters are more comfortable for beginners. Based on your teams composition, you may want to change characters (from offensive to defensive for instance). You will become familiar with characters and their abilities the more you play.
Practice:
Enter the practice mode of Overwatch. Here, you will be taught the basics of controls and abilities for your chosen character.
Accommodations:
If you find playing against other people too difficult right now, try playing against computer opponents on an easier setting. This will allow you to become familiar with map layouts and other characters abilities and strategies.
Checking For Understanding:
Listen to the suggestions of your team mates. Check your KDR during the game by holding TAB to see how you are progressing, and use methods of communication to gain insight from your team mates.
Closure:
Finish up a game, ensuring your remember how you did during the game. Make note of how this game went if you wish. Always say "GG" in the game chat after a game or you will be seen as rude (salty).
Evaluation:
After or during a match, hold TAB to check your number of kills and number of deaths. This is a basic way to judge your competency at Overwatch. While your KDR is important in see your progress as a player, kills are not the definitive way to identify your skill in game. If you are playing a healing or defensive character, your kills will not be an effective measure of your abilities.
Teacher Reflections:
Play the student in a game to see how they have improved since beginning.
