Introduction: | The teacher will read a story to the children about ice skating. |
Development: | Have the children sit down in a circle. Explain to the children that they will be "ice skating" around the classroom. Place two paper plates in front of each child. Explain to the children that they are not to get up until their name is called. The teacher then calls out three or four children's names and tells them to place their feet on the paper plates. The teacher will demonstrate how to "ice skate." |
Practice: | The teacher will first demonstrate how to "ice skate" in a circle around the room. The teacher will ask the children to follow her. |
