Content: | Discuss why brushing your teeth is healthy. Cavity-when a tooth decays or breaks down. Tooth brush- a narrow stick with bristles at one end. Tooth paste- a creamy mixture put on a tooth brush to clean teeth. |
Goals: | Students will get to see what is going on inside their mouth while they brush their teeth. They will also get to practice brushing. |
Objectives: | The students will be able to see and help other children with brushing their teeth the right way. |
Materials: | Mini Marshmellows White paper Glue Red Crayons Tooth Brushes |
Introduction: | Ask the students why brushing their teeth is important. Tell them that we are going to make a fake mouth and practice brushing the teeth. |
Development: | Show the students how to create the mouth and model how the correct way to brush and floss their teeth. |
Practice: | Have the students make their fake mouths and practices brushing and flossing. |
Accommodations: | Help any student struggling. Maybe put them with another child so they can work together. |
Checking For Understanding: | Asking questions to make sure they understand the importance of brushing teeth. Also going around and helping to make sure they are brushing correctly. |
Closure: | Again stress why its important to brush your teeth. Have the students clean up and put things away. Again stress the importance of brushing teeth. |
