Students must decide which chart type to use for the given data set. o Then students must create the chart with the provided data set. • Exercises two. Students must decide which chart type to use for the given data set. o Then students must create the chart with the provided data set. • Exercises three. Students must decide which chart type to use for the given data set. o Then students must create the chart with the provided data set. • Exercises four. Goals: | The students will be able to…. • Create Charts in Excel • Create graphical visualizations of useful information drawn from raw data. • Students may create graphs that will show them what may not be simply visible by just looking at the raw data. • Use the generated data to help decide on specific questions. • Generate different ways to display the data (types of charts to be reviewed.) |
Objectives: | Follow instructor using Excel and demonstrate how to create and select the correct style of chart. |
Materials: | "This file.xlsx" will be supplied on Avenue to learn. Also, projector with desktop computer running Windows and MS EXCEL 2012 so instructor will be able to lead the class. Each student will require a desktop computer running Windows and MS EXCEL 2012 |
Introduction: | In an attempt to engage the students, a quick history about the inventor and his life will be given. Also, why the first charts were used for will also be reviewed and demonstrated to the class. |
Development: | Teacher will demonstrate 3 examples showing all three types of charts to the students. |
Practice: | From 5 questions, the teacher will review the first 2 with the students. |
Accommodations: | This is the last 5'th question, only done if time permits. |
Checking For Understanding: | Stuendtes will be asked if they know "Why we use one cell of data higher then the other". This is done to check for understanding of the excel templates and demonstrate that TItle will be generated when doing this. |
Closure: | Students will be able to ask any questions they may have related to the presentation. |
Evaluation: | Walking around the class and checking how the students are doing, if they have completed the work correctly. |
