Basic Content of HTML Document (~ 10 mins) 3. Head/Title tag (~ 5 mins) 4. Formatting (~ 5 mins) 5. FONT tag and attributes
(~ 10 mins) 6. Hyperlinks (~ 4 mins) 7. Practice Creating HTML document (individual work) (~ 10 mins) The following will be covered if there is time: 1. Using STYLE attribute with CSS- FONT tag - Paragraph tag - BODY tag |
Objectives: | Students will be able to design a basic HTML template and identify key terms and tags and also turn a plain text file into an HTML document with some basic formatting. |
Materials: | Laptop/Desktop with Windows Notepad, projector and any common browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome to view webpages. |
Introduction: | The teacher will give a powerpoint presentation outlining the basic terms and markup language of HTML. |
Development: | The students will have the chance to experience a live training and follow along in the making of an HTML document from a plain text file containing some sentences using notepad on Windows. |
Practice: | The students will be given time to format a text file using HTML markup to turn it into a HTML document |
