 HTML markup language to create a basic HTML webpage.
Goals:
 Students will be able to understand the basic markup language and how to create a basic HTML document. The topics that must be covered will be:

1. Creating an HTML document (~ 1 min)

2. Basic Content of HTML Document (~ 10 mins)
- HTML tag
- BODY tag
- PARAGRAPH tag
- HEADINGS (H1, H2, H3....)
- Tag Attributes

3. Head/Title tag (~ 5 mins)
- Why not needed by standard
- Why it SHOULD be used

4. Formatting (~ 5 mins)
- BOLD tag
- ITALIC tag
- UNDERLINE tag

5. FONT tag and attributes (~ 10 mins)
- COLOR
- SIZE
- FACE

6. Hyperlinks (~ 4 mins)

7. Practice Creating HTML document (individual work) (~ 10 mins)

The following will be covered if there is time:

1. Using STYLE attribute with CSS
- FONT tag
- Paragraph tag
- BODY tag
Objectives:
 Students will be able to understand a basic HTML template and identify key terms and tags and also turn a plain text file into an HTML document with some basic formatting.
Materials:
 Laptop/Desktop with Windows Notepad, projector and any common browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome to view webpages.
Introduction:
 The teacher will give a powerpoint presentation outlining the basic terms and markup language of HTML.
Development:
 The students will have the chance to experience a live training and follow along in the making of an HTML document from a plain text file containing some sentences using notepad on Windows.
Practice:
 The students will be given time to format a text file using HTML markup to turn it into a HTML document

 During the practice period, teacher will be available for any questions or guidance in completing the practice file.
Closure:
 After the lesson is complete, the teacher can ask the class
