Introduction:
I will introduce this lesson by reading an excerpt from the student book and discussing trade with the class.

Accommodations:
If students are having problems matching vocabulary to definition I will give hints and will refer students to corresponding sections in the whole class passage.
Checking For Understanding:
I will check for understanding by discussing vocabulary card matches with the class. I will distribute a eastern exploration worksheet to the class and we will complete it as a class.
Closure:
I will go over answers for the exploration worksheet and will have the kids put the worksheet in their social studies folder for end of unit review.
Evaluation:
I will assess student understanding by assessing ease of matching vocabulary terms during the whole class vocabulary game and will monitor student answers during whole class completion of exploration worksheet.
