Goals:
 Children standing in groups, will be able to answer addition problems, will be able to complete worksheet.
Objectives:
 Given many examples and through standing in groups and adding themselves, the students will be able to successfully complete the worksheet given after the lesson.
Materials:
 Worksheet
Introduction:
 What is 3+4? What is 4+3? What was the answer to both problems? What is 9+2? what is 2+9? What was the answer to both of these problems?
Development:
 I'd like to have the blue group come up here and stand to one side. Count off and remember how many there are of you. I'd like the green group to come up, count off and remember how many there are of you. Now, someone in the yellow group tell me what the total number of people in the front of the classroom is. Now, the blue group stand over here and switch sides with the green group. Now, someone in the yellow group tell me how many people there are in the front of the classroom. Did it change? Does it matter whether the blue group's 6 people is on one side or another? Now, I'd like the blue group to sit down, and the yellow group to come up here. Now, someone in the blue group tell me how many people there are total. Switch around and see if anything changes.
Practice:
 I will write several different fact families on the board and have the students tell me what the answers are. I will also give some examples from the worksheet they will complete to make sure they understand before being graded.
Accommodations:
 I will read the directions aloud once for those whose reading is not on target, and I will come around to offer a litte help while they are doing the worksheet.
Checking For Understanding:
 I will check the worsheets to see if they did well on them.
Closure:
 I will review the material with the students through going through the worksheet and letting them correct what they missed.
Evaluation:
 The worksheet will be graded after the first try and will be given extra credit after the student has successfully completed the worksheet.
