 Korean struggle, conflict and global involvment.
Goals:
 The student will understand the origin of the Korean war, as well as its lasting effects. Texas TEKS U.S. History 113.32 The student understands the impact of significant national and international decisions and conflicts from World War II and the Cold War to the present on the United States. 133.9 The student understands the impact of totalitarianism in the 20th century
Objectives:
 The students will be able to respond to questions during numerous brief intervals during the lecture. Student's will be encouraged to give input on the Korean War.
Materials:
 I will use the projector, chapter outline, video, and world maps
Introduction:
 The background of the Korean War will be covered in class, as well as the actual invasion of South Korea. The students will focus mainly on the causes and effects of the war.
Development:
 Media will be provide visual aids for students. The video will give studets a better understanding of the place and time period that is under discussion. I will pause the video to make certain points and aid students comprehention. Maps will be used to make sure that students have a clear understanding of the Korean area.
Practice:
 Students will take notes during the video and use them as a study guide for their test.
Accommodations:
 A modified quiz will be made for students who need them. The modifications will be made for each students individual learning style.
Checking For Understanding:
 The video will be paused and students will be checked verbally for clarification and understanding. The quiz will be for a daily grade and show students comprehension in the subject matter.
Closure:
 At the end of the class period the students will be given the chance to ask questions and turn in their notes for a grade.
