Topic:
 To teach students about healthy choices for snacking.
Content:
 The students will be able to choose from the healthy food choices, and distinguish between foods that are high in sugar for their snacks, and snacks that are the healtheir choice.
Goals:
 The purpose of this lesson, is to teach children proper snack opions, so they can make the right decisions when it comes to snacking.
Objectives:
 The class will finish the worksheets that are given, and we will discuss the different choices that the students can make about healthy snacking.
Materials:
 -Vedgetable colouring sheets -Mix and Match work sheets.
Introduction:
 Ask the class what they eat at snack time. Focus mainly on recess and after school.
Development:
 Draw fruit and veggies on the board, or use power point, mix it up with unhealthy food choices and ask the class what would be the healthy snacks. Discuss why some choices are healthier that others, and also discuss the sugar content, and point out the healthier alternatives.
Practice:
 Hand out the worksheets, and get the class to colour it. This will help them learn about the different fuits and veggies.
Accommodations:
 
Checking For Understanding:
 Make sure the class understands which food is healthy, and which is unhealthy. If there is confussion, there should be extra time to quickly go through strong points in the lesson.
Closure:
 Make a rhyme with the students to help them remember healthy snacking. This rhyme will stay with the children, and they will recall it when they are snacking.
Evaluation:
 Evaluate the students on their participation, attitude and the worksheets they were given.
