Objectives:
 The objective of the lesson 1. listening 2. Following directions Tell students (If everyone follows directions we will have crystals tomorrow)
Materials:
 materials for 25 students 25 cups boiling water 5 cups 20 mule borax not the soap dissolved into boiling water 25 pipe cleaners 25 cups 1 cup size 25 straws
Introduction:
 Student will practice following direction and listening as they receive instructed on the process of growing a crystal.
Development:
 Teacher will write the following steps on the board 1. Write your name on the side of the cup 2. Bend pipe cleaner so it has a large circle on one end that is about the size of your thumb 3. Bend opposite end around straw. 4. position the large circle so it does not touch sides or bottom
Practice:
 Teacher will demonstrate each step 1. Write your name on the side of the cup. 2. Bend pipe cleaner so it has a large circle on one end that is about the size of your thumb. 3. Bend oppisite end around straw. 4. position large circle so it does not touch sides or bottom. Students will listen to steps and observe process.

 Draw names at random and ask students to repeat the direction.
