Materials: | Sample of Food Guide Pyramid (blank) Microsoft Publisher |
Introduction: | The students will build a Food Guide Pyramid using Microsoft Publisher. |
Development: | Each student will need to (correctly)include the appropriate number of groups, place and label them in the appropriate places and include 1-2 foods correctly in each group. |
Practice: | Before the students begin building their own Food Guide Pyramid they will observe while the teacher creates one going over it step by step to the whole class. |
Accommodations: | The teacher and the Lab Aide will be available for all students who may need assistance. For upper/above level students: they may include more than 2 foods in each group. For lower/below level students: they may work with a partner or use blank food pyramid guide. |
Checking For Understanding: | This assessment will be assessed with a rubric that will be given to students along with the instruction. |
Closure: | We will conclude this assignment with each student presenting what s/he has created to the class. |
