Topic:
 The Grouchy Ladybug Time Lesson
Content:

Goals:
Have students know what to tell time. Students will know what the clock is and each of the vocabulary words. The student's will recognize what time it is when they look at the clock.
Objectives:
Talk about the clock. Introduce key terms. Each student will play with their own clocks and become familiar with the clocks.
Materials:
Teacher model clock, Student clocks, Clock diagrams, sticky tack/tape, time diagrams
Introduction:
The students will learn to demonstrate an understanding of using clocks to tell time by using manipulatives provided and by sketching them on paper with 100% accuracy.
Development:
When the teacher points the time on the clock the students will raise their hands and tell the teacher what time it is. Each student must answer at one point.
Practice:
Each student will be given a clock or a piece of paper with clocks on it. The students will be able to practice telling time by drawing a time on the paper and having a parter guessing what time it is. Also the teacher will tell the students what time to write down on their own clocks and hand it in for grading.
Accommodations:
I will read the book, "The Grouchy lady bug" by Eric Carle aloud and then demonstrate that time is important. Each student will draw a picture of where the lady bug will meet its new animal. The student must write down on their piece of paper the clock and a time the animal meet their ladybug.
Checking For Understanding:
Tell me what you liked most about the story? What was the hardest part of learning to move the hands on the clocks? What was the best part of learning to tell time this way? What could we have done differently to make it more fun/interesting to you.
Closure:
Each student will go around the room and tell what they liked best about playing and learning with clocks today.
Evaluation:
For another day; the students will use their clock sheets and write down the times on the clocks in digit form. And then the students will draw and decorate their clocks to make it colorful.
